How much grant money did the City of Richland receive?

The City of Richland received $1,069,400.

How is the City of Richland distributing their Washington Families Clean Energy Credits Grand Funds?

The grant received by the City of Richland from the Washington State Department of Commerce allows the City to  provide a one-time, $200 bill credit for low-income and moderate-income residential customers by September 15, 2024. There were 5,347 qualifying households in Richland who received a credit.

Eligibility for this grant was reviewed by a third-party vendor and is based on a household's gross income being at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

I am low-income, why did I not receive a credit?

After issuing the credit to the first 5,347 households, all funds were exhausted. Although there are more residents who may qualify for this credit, the limited grant amount received from the state only allows us to provide assistance to no more than the first 5,347 eligible households identified by our vendor.

Do I need to complete an application for eligibility?

You do not need to take any action to receive this benefit. The credit will automatically be applied to your utility account by the specified date.
