Fireworks in Richland

*Please note: Hot, dry weather significantly increases the risk of fires when using fireworks.  Dry vegetation can easily ignite from sparks or embers, potentially leading to fire damage on surrounding property. Therefore, extreme caution and safety precautions are crucial when using fireworks in these conditions.  See safety tips further below:  

Fourth of July: 

Fireworks can be discharged from June 28-July 5 per the times listed below. To confirm you are using legal fireworks, fireworks should be purchased in Richland. Violators could be cited and fined $250. 

New Years Eve:

 It is legal to discharge certain fireworks in Richland in celebration of the new year from December 31, at 6:00 p.m. until January 1, 1:00 a.m. Violators could be cited and fined $250.

Fireworks safety tips:

• Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.

• Be aware of dry/windy conditions.

• Never allow children to play or ignite fireworks and keep children at a safe distance.

• Only light one firework at a time and then move back quickly.

• Only light fireworks outdoors and on a smooth flat service away from the house, dry leaves, and flammable materials.

• Always buy fireworks from a reliable source – if you buy them in Richland they are legal in Richland.

Fireworks etiquette:

• Be aware of your neighbors, their pets, and their families.

• Safely dispose of used fireworks; let used fireworks soak in a bucket of water overnight before disposing of them in plastic waste bins to prevent smoldering fires that can extend to adjacent structures.

• Do not light fireworks outside of designated hours.

Fireworks clean up:

Please place used fireworks in a pail of water before putting them in the trash and pick up leftover debris when your celebration is over.
